EasyGo and Eir team up to charge from phone box sites

The EasyGo EV charging network is to install fast chargers in 70 locations around the country where telephone boxes are being removed, writes Brian Byrne.

The initiative is in association with Eir and will involve the installation of 200 fast charge units.

The locations are in Offaly, Mayo, Cavan, Waterford, Kilkenny, Tipperary and Monaghan, and will be rolled out over the next six months.

With one in seven cars sold this year being fully electric, the move will help deal with both range anxiety and the queuing that is becoming apparent at many charging sites.
